Laurie and Harvey take Corio’s 12pm charge

Corio has confirmed the appointment of stalwart Christopher Laurie as the club’s reserves coach for the 2019 season.

The Devils’ veteran will share the role with the club’s reserves best and fairest winner Brendan Harvey.

“Chris is a very respected guy around the club and I think both of them will look after the ressies really well,” Corio senior coach Andrew Challis said.

“He is one of our veterans but he also has a good rapport with some of our Colts boys coming up to reserves and senior level.”

Harvey, who joined the club after a 135 game stint with Portarlington, held off Eric Richards in Corio’s club best and fairest count while also collecting three Tansing medal votes for the winless Devils.

“Harvs has a good coaching experience and is also a great guy with great character which is what we’ve needed at the club,” Challis added.

The duo will be assisted by former Queenscliff and Portarlington ace Joseph Glew.
