Fresh from captaining the GDFNL 25&U Interleague side to a 106-point win, Belmont Lions star Ben McPherson will turn his attention to Inverleigh
McPherson's leadership has become one of the great success stories at Belmont, earning him the honour of leading the representative side on the big stage.
Belmont co-coach Andy Walsgott said McPherson's growth over the past two seasons had been remarkable.
"He's like a son," Walsgott said.
"He has come a long way with his development and leadership.
"We've had a lot of chats on the phone and walks and we're very proud of young Ben."
Walsgott said McPherson joined Belmont's leadership group last year and embraced the challenge.
"We've been working on controlling the controllables and not letting other things dictate that," he said.
"He's taken that and gone to the next level. He's become a leader of men here at age 22."
