The first senior coaching change of season 2026 has taken place at Scaada Stadium this evening.

The Giants, guided by playing coach Scott Frangos, have been unable to register a win so far in season 2026 after failing to match Thomson 5.14 (44) to 12.9 (81) in the bottom of the table clash.

Geelong West Giants football director Andy Campbell has confirmed Andrew Clark will return to the role of senior coach.

Club statement -

The Geelong West Giants can confirm that Scott Frangos has stepped down as Head Coach of our GDFL Senior Football Program.

Since taking charge in 2023, Scott has been a tireless contributor to the Giants leading with passion, commitment and genuine care for the club and playing group.

His connection to Geelong West spans more than 25 years, beginning as a young Auskicker at West Oval and growing into a remarkable contribution both on and off the field.

While stepping away from coaching, we’re hopeful this won’t be the last time we see Scott in the Orange and Charcoal, with the milestone of 300 games still within reach.

Thank you, Scott, for your leadership, loyalty and service to the Giants.

The club will confirm interim coaching arrangements in due course.

The Giants will travel to Fortis Foundations Oval to play Inverleigh in Round 6.
