First year GDFNL president Darryl Jarvis used this evening's season launch to pay tribute to his predecessor Neville Whitley OAM.
"People have asked if my transition to president has been difficult and my answer is simple," he stated.
"I sat beside Neville for a long period of time and felt natural to move to one seat to the left hand side of it."
Guest speakers Michelle Gerdtz and David Langley reflected on the 20 years of the KEMPE | Read The Play program before premiership plaques were handed out to the winning grand final teams from season 2025.
Arguably the highlight of the night was the naming of the No.1 Ticket Holders, Norm Banham (football) and Catherine Edsall (netball).
